Charlie Goodman and Norm Hammond featured in a spontaneous discussion that kicked off when Norm happened to drop in and was flagged into a live broadcast leading into a discussion which started with the “Dune Spirit Festival” in Halcyon which featured the Abel, Steinberg, Winant Trio playing compositions written by Henry Cowell.
Lou Harrison (a protégé of Cowell) was at the event and also gave a presentation.
The discussion brought in dune artists Emily Dean and the “Dune Goddess” sculpture by Elwood Decker who was the most prolific artist in the Dunes, and Dr. Rudolf W. Gerber, the “Patron Saint of the Dunites." CLICK TO PLAY
